Now more than ever before, affordable sustainability is front and centre of Airsprung’s development.
“At the top of the list of many a responsible manufacturer, is an active and dynamic drive to operate and deliver in a sustainable way. This is the Airsprung way. And this is Airsprung today”.
Paul Little
Firstly, ‘going eco’ doesn’t have to break the bank. As a long term member and contributor to both FIRA and the National Bed Federation, our experienced voice matters in this respect.
Now is the time to be developing and bringing products to customers who wish to be included in the wave of interest in acquiring a sustainably made bed that they can afford, from a manufacturer that they know and trust.
THIS IS THE AIRSPRUNG MANTRA.

Be amazed. This is a 100% recycled polyester fibre, created not just from plastic bottles – which is great in itself – but specifically 100% plastic, including bottles, at high risk of ending up in the ocean – so it deals with a root cause of ocean plastic. It’s collected within 50k of coastlines and waterways in countries or areas that lack formal waste or recycling systems, so our eco range can play an even bigger role in solving the ocean pollution problem: developing recycling programs in areas where plastic is most at risk of entering a marine environment.
Reassuringly, it has verifiable content tracing.
Across the Airsprung eco range, this fabric provides our sleeping surface, mattress borders and handles, Apart from the Kids Wellbeing mattress where it is used on the border alone.
REPREVE® and REPREVE® Our Ocean™ are used by many internationally renowned brands from fashion and sportswear brands, through to car interiors.
Responding to quickly developing consumer demand means we are directly involved in shaping our sector in step with this.
We can listen. Listen to what our key retail customers tell us they are hearing from their customers on the ground and through their social media.
Sustainability throughout the business is rapidly developing with an overall plan to reach the goal of net zero. Materials are sourced from supplier partners who themselves are moving apace and who understand our own developing needs.
From zero landfill across our manufacturing site, through to accelerating our efficiencies of production, transportation and recycling, we involved in pressing forward into developing a truly circular economy from the development of new models through to the end of life recyclability of components.
The National Bed Federation (NBF) has launched an industry-wide “Pledge for Our Planet”, asking companies in the bed industry to take steps in unison that will address global environmental damage.
The five-point Pledge signifies a collective effort to commit to a journey of continuous environmental improvement at both a company and product-level. It has also been designed to future-proof the industry for upcoming legislation and market changes.
